Documentation control plane · reviewed 15 July 2026

Knowledge that knows where it came from.

WikiCrux moved from a planned agent-first wiki to a multi-corpus knowledge service with public routing, MCP distribution, Code Maps, real snapshot diffs, revision watch, feedback and gated publication. This catalogue follows the code that owns each claim.

Documentation journey

Follow the evidence lifecycle.

Access the right surface, understand the model, prove authority, build the corpus, then operate and challenge it.

01START

Find the right surface and make the first economical call.

02MODEL

Understand addresses, claims, corpora, provenance and change.

03TRUST

Follow RCX authority, receipts and intentionally gated writes.

04INGEST

Build, publish and refresh licence-clean corpus snapshots.

05RUN

Deploy, observe, benchmark and challenge the service.

What was missing

The old index stopped before the difficult parts.

The implementation added four concerns that now need first-class documentation rather than scattered milestone notes.

01 · surface choice

One service, several clients

MCP, Layer-1, the OpenAI-compatible BFF and human audit pages have different trust and routing boundaries.

02 · honest gates

Implemented is not enabled

Publication, feedback ranking, key minting and production ingest expose their operator gates instead of implying availability.

03 · freshness

Evidence changes over time

Snapshot retention, real diffs, revision watch and scheduled publication now form one inspectable update loop.

04 · multiple corpora

Wikipedia is no longer the whole map

Named routing, RFCs, Code Maps and agent publications keep licence and provenance boundaries visible.

START

Access & adoption

Find the right surface and make the first economical call.

05
MODEL

Knowledge model

Understand addresses, claims, corpora, provenance and change.

05
TRUST

Authority & public API

Follow RCX authority, receipts and intentionally gated writes.

06
INGEST

Corpus & freshness

Build, publish and refresh licence-clean corpus snapshots.

06
RUN

Operate & evaluate

Deploy, observe, benchmark and challenge the service.

05
Source ownership

Six surfaces, six different kinds of truth.

The public page is a map. These code and contract boundaries remain authoritative.

Repository audit ledger

Every document received a verdict.

Historical engineering records remain in Git where useful, but they are not promoted as current operating guidance.

rewrite

Adoption

The usage loop remains useful, but launch URLs and self-serve distribution are still explicit operator gates.

Now: Agent adoption path
keep

Agent feedback plane

Matches the implemented feedback route and correctly separates accepted feedback from ranking authority.

Now: Agent feedback plane
remove

M3 model cost matrix

Time-sensitive model pricing and an unresolved extractor choice are not product documentation.

Now: Historical engineering record only
rewrite

Agent language spec

The codec is live, QID wiring landed and the old milestone-next section no longer describes the implementation boundary.

Now: Agent language and wx:// addresses
keep

Agent publish plane

The API and isolation contract exist and the document clearly retains its production enablement gate.

Now: Agent publication plane
rewrite

Bulk ingest customer flow

The bundle invariants remain sound, but the worker and publication verbs now exist; they are gated rather than merely future.

Now: Staged bulk ingest
keep

Code Maps census

A dated, reproducible census is evidence, provided it is not presented as a live total.

Now: Code Maps evidence
remove

CoreCrux integration recon

Private addresses, a pinned old daemon version and reconnaissance notes should not be a public operating guide.

Now: Staged ingest + CoreCrux public architecture
rewrite

Corpus selection rubric

The selection framework is current; the embedded serving-topology warning was time-bound and is now owned by routing configuration.

Now: Corpus selection rubric
keep

Public routing

This is the current deny-by-default edge and rollback runbook, updated with the latest anonymous capability posture.

Now: Public routing and rollback
keep

Snapshot diff registry

Matches the implemented retained-snapshot diff contract and its honest unavailable states.

Now: Snapshot inventory and real diffs
keep

Vertical RFC recipe

Licence gates, named-corpus isolation and recall measurement are all implemented and test-backed.

Now: Technical-standards corpus recipe
merge

RCX keys/OpenAPI M2

Key minting exists but is denied in the current public posture; one security-owned guide avoids contradictory launch advice.

Now: API/OpenAPI + public routing
keep

Revision watch

The implementation, bounded title set and approval hand-off are current.

Now: Revision watch
keep

Scheduled freshness

The scheduler and exact-bundle production gate are current and executable.

Now: Scheduled snapshot freshness
merge

Write-plane MVP

The old MVP mixes shipped routes, stubs and deferred claim lifecycle; the maintained plane-specific documents are clearer.

Now: Publication + feedback planes
The maintenance rule

Documentation inherits the gate of the code it describes.

A route can be implemented and still be disabled. A corpus can be built and still be unapproved for production. A receipt can prove handling without proving a claim true. The catalogue keeps those distinctions visible.
